Every website needs a domain name (the website’s address), and hosting. We can take care of both aspects for you, with either monthly or annual billing. You are also welcome to organise your own website domain and hosting, but it’s good to check with us first just to make sure your hosting comes with everything you need. Also bear in mind it’s much harder for us to diagnose issues with websites we do not host ourselves!
You can register as many domain names as you like to point at your website. We can handle the registration and setup of your domain name for just $49.95+GST per domain per year. If you already own a domain name, we can arrange to have it pointed at your new website.
Be wary of extremely cheap hosting plans, as they may be a little too ‘bare-bones’. Also watch out for overseas companies – if something goes wrong and you need the helpdesk.. will it be the middle of the night where they are? Many hosting providers simply resell space they purchase from large overseas providers, and have no control over their web servers at all! This could mean getting stuck with a web host who has no idea why your website is down! All our websites are hosted right here, in Wellington, New Zealand, so support is only a phonecall away, and if most of your customer base is in New Zealand, they’ll be getting the fastest possible response times.

Basic hosting
Our basic website hosting plan is designed for simple websites with only a few pages, or a WordPress-based blog. If your website has on average less than 1,000 visitors per month, and doesn’t require an advanced CMS (Content Management System), then this package is for you! Our basic hosting package costs just $30+GST per month, or $300 per year.
Standard hosting
Our standard hosting plan is a step up, and allows you to run an advanced CMS website built on a platform such as ExpressionEngine. We take care of installing and maintaining the CMS for you – if there are any problems, we take ownership of all levels of your hosting, right from the underlying server through to your front-end. If your website has on average less than 5,000 visits per month, then the standard hosting plan is for you! Our standard hosting plan costs $50+GST per month.
Advanced hosting
Our advanced hosting plan is similar to the standard plan, for websites built using an advanced CMS. The advanced plan is for websites with on average between 5,000 and 10,000 visitors per month, and allows your website more room to breathe, as we host less websites per server. Our advanced hosting plan costs $80+GST per month.
Dedicated hosting
Don’t like the thought of your website sharing a server with other websites? Want the peace of mind knowing that your website is hosted on a dedicated Virtual Private Server (VPS), and that it has dedicated resources to handle large spikes in traffic volume? Here at Crescendo we can cater for any size business, and our dedicated VPS hosting can scale to all but the largest of websites. We offer a ‘managed’ VPS service, which means we personally install and configure your VPS, and work with you to determine the necessary specifications of the VPS. Dedicated VPS hosting starts at $200+GST per month for a managed cloud server with 512MB RAM, 1 processor core, 10gb storage, and 25gb international traffic (NZ traffic is free). As your site grows, you may need to add more RAM and processor cores, and we can monitor this for you.
