Logo / Identity Design

A well designed logo can do wonders for any business. It inspires trust, reminds people who you are and what you’re all about. It can add class or humour, and distinguish you from the competition.

The term ‘identity’ referes to more than just your logo, it covers the way you present yourself. It’s a bit like the clothes you put on in the morning, or the way you do your hair. If you really want to make a professional impression, you wouldn’t throw on a sack and jandals now would you? More specifically, we like to describe it as a ‘visual language’ that coherently links your logo, stationery or any other marketing collateral. Winsborough is a good example - all their various printed and online materials clearly communicate the ‘Winsborough’ identity, while allowing the flexibility for individual designs.

You may hear the term ‘branding’ thrown around a lot, and used interchangably with ‘identity’. Branding is more than just awareness, or the expression of a company’s identity. These days branding refers to the management of your company’s image , that is, a set of expectiations, associations or perceptions surrounding your product or service. You could think of it as your businesses ‘personality’. While an effective identity can go a long way to influencing these (for example a logo featuring a castle implies trust), it is ultimately your communication and interaction with customers that develop a strong brand.

Dave has been creating logos for my various companies for the past 4 years and I have always been impressed with his ability to come with original, inspirational and creative concepts. Therefore when I wanted to re-vamp my websites recently, I did not hesitate to give the job to Dave. Again he has managed to achieve exactly what I envisaged and I am thrilled with the new look he has created. Dave has always been extremely easy and pleasant to work with and I can not recommend him highly enough.
