ExpressionEngine 2 (EE) is an extremely flexible, user-friendly and robust content management system with an extensive user base. It is based on the popular and respected PHP Codeigniter framework, which is open source. The CMS itself is more of a ‘CMS framework’, allowing us to design the system to best suit your needs. Need some custom functionality as part of your website? No problem, we have extensive experience developing custom add-ons for EE, not to mention theres a huge community of add-on developers, with pre-built solutions covering most common website functionality.

Why we use and recommend ExpressionEngine:

• Security & Stability: in 10 years ExpressionEngine has never had a major security breach
• Design: In general, EE websites are known for their high standard of design - designers love EE as it doesn’t force them to work a certain way or impose limitations on site design, structure, or content.
• Flexibility/scalability: As a ‘CMS framework’, EE allows us to build a site to exactly fit your requirements, and build any custom functionality into the same control panel. Its flexibility allows us to build you a website that not only fulfills your needs and creative vision today, but will grow and scale as your business needs change in the future
• Support: While we have plenty of experience with EE, there are still occasionally software issues that need addressing. Being a commerical CMS, support is much more forthcoming than many of the open source alternatives on the market, so basically, anything we can’t fix, we know someone who can!
• Community: You can generally judge the ‘health’ of CMS such as this by the company it keeps. EE boast a thriving user community of hundreds of thousands of web developers wordwide.
• Ease of use: We haven’t actually tried this, but EE is so easy to use we believe a well-trained monkey could pick it up in minutes. The control panel is intuitive and we can customise it for whatever type of content you are adding/editing.
